Sit tight little fella. No need to get overly ambitious with those forays into uncharted territories. I've noticed it's pretty difficult to see things at night if they don't move. Best to stay stock still and keep all your limbs intact. No danger of running over sharpened mangoes (or were they guava fruit) and getting yourself a puncture. Alex

Hi Mike, I trust you weren't too poverty stricken to buy your misses a birthday pressie. Say Hi from her big brother on her birthday - Anzac Day if you didn't realise. Oz has so far managed to avoid the worst of the GFC (Greed Fuelled Crash). However just in case, I have decided to save the $10 bucks I was going to spend on her pressie, $80 on postage and $10 annual donation to Hallmark, for a rainy day. Which amazingly it is today. I am in Adelaide for a friend's wedding and it is raining for the first time since December 11th 2008. Even the bride is not complaining about the sudden and unexpected generosity of the great benefactor in charge of the sky taps. So I will use your wife's birthday money to raise a class to her, the bride and groom, and to your fallen Anzac mates. 25/04 being the chosen day of remembrance here rather than 11/11 (even your transatlantic amigos shouldn't get those dates confused). Lest we forget. Which I didn't; so give the old girl a peck on the cheek from me - Alex

I twated my eye on sat, was told by doc to go A+E went all blokey and didnt go, played footy sun, got secondary bleeding and spent this am in A+E. Compare my plight - this morning I rose at 7 and walked my dog wearing only T-shirt and shorts. It made me quite sweaty, so I went for a swim. I don't think I'd appreciate Christmas temps of 76 degrees F had i not endured dozens of Yorkshire Decembers........

If your material ever runs dry (which I doubt), you can always write about the time that you drank something rather minging at the post-Commando course celebrations. I'll admit up front that we all did it, but you took it to another level...without first losing at spoof! While in some social circles you might have been termed a heathen and, in days of yore, committed to the sanitorium (with the rest of us), your actions earned the immediate and eternal respect of the social class called "Green Beret".
That one also falls in the category "if your are going to drink a pint of sick...don't sip at it!"
